«Virgile» Red 2006 Coteaux du Languedoc Rouge Saint Saturnin



AOC Coteaux du Languedoc St Saturnin

30% Carignan, 40% Grenache, 30% Syrah

Serve at around 18°C

Cellaring : 5 to 15 years after harvest

Ageing : 12 months in concrete tanks, 12 months in oak casks, 3 months in bottles

Serve decanted.

A deep ruby red, almost crimson. The nose is blackcurrant, prune and cocoa.
In the mouth it is structured with firm tannins and a fruity acidity, the aromas on the nose being confirmed in the mouth, with hints of the garrigue persisting in the length.
This wine is powerful and tense. Best served decanted at about 18°C.
It can be cellared for 15 years and should be at its best in 2018.

Food & wine pairing: recommended with grilled lamb with thym or with the Corsican cheese “fleur de maquis”. It is also very good with red meats in sauce.



«Virgile» Red 2005, Coteaux du Languedoc, Saint Saturnin





A beautiful garnet red colour with mahogany highlights.

The delicate nose reveals lots of fruits including elderberry and blackberry, black pepper and cedarwood.

In the mouth, this complexity persists, revealing a slightly more jammy taste, ending in a final which reveals the limestone minerals of our slopes, while remaining silky and smooth.



«Virgile» Red 2004, Coteaux du Langeudoc, Saint Saturnin





A ruby red, crimson colour. The nose is fresh, with notes of violet, blackberry, leather and camphor.

In the mouth, the delicate feeling provided by the acidity is supported by the delicacy of the aromas and by a final revealing eucalyptus.

This charming and sensual wine shows great class in its fineness and length.
Best drunk at 18°C after having been gently decanted.

Food & wine pairing: it is perfect with a rib of Beef and very good with a dark chocolate soufflé.



«Virgile» rouge 2003 Coteaux du Languedoc Rouge Saint Saturnin





This red wine presents a ruby colour with reflections of purple. The ‘tears’ are long and slow. Superb, the nose is very pure with aromas of pureed blackcurrants and spices, with an elegance of vanilla aromas from the oak. The second aromas express the scents of spices, olives and the garrigue.

The mouth is supple and round. Its tannins are dense and closed with final flavours of wood and minerals. The lasting length rests on tastes of liquorice and black olives.

This wine has very good structure, aromas and clarity, expressing enormous potential.



«Virgile» Rouge 2002 A.O.C. Coteaux du Languedoc





This red wine has an intense ruby colour with lively red glints. The ‘tears’ are long and slow. Intense, the first ‘nose’ is of ripe black fruits, the second expresses spices, olives and aromas of the garrigue.  It is nicely complex and ripe. 

The ‘mouth’ is round with a rich finish and a harmonious balance of freshness and very elegant tannins.  The lasting taste is of black olives and liquorice. 

This wine is deep and well balanced and is a splendid expression of the vintage too.


«Virgile» Rouge 2001 A.O.C. Coteaux du Languedoc

This red wine has a deep ruby colour under-laid with shades of vermillion. The ‘tears’ are long and slow. Intense, the first ‘nose’ is of macerated black fruits. The second aromas are quite closed but they develop after good aeration, giving aromas of black olives and pepper.

The ‘mouth’ is big and round, with some tannin still present giving an extremely fine and elegant finish. The final taste is that of cherries macerated in eau de vie preceded by a mineral flavours, almost salty.

This wine is rich and powerful and will benefit from pouring into a carafe several hours before serving. It merits ageing for a while longer to fully appreciate the full potential of its promising complex expression.


«Virgile» Rouge 2000 première mise - A.O.C. Coteaux du Languedoc

Grape Varieties : 40% Carignan, 30 % Grenache, 30% Syrah
Maturation : 9 months cement tank, 3 months in bottles
Best served : know or can be kept for 8 years.
Serve at a temperature of approximately 16 degrees, lightly aired.


«Virgile» Rouge 2000 deuxième mise - A.O.C. Coteaux du Languedoc


Grape Varieties : 70% Syrah, 30 % Cinsault
Maturation : 3 months cement tank, 18 months in barrel, 3 months in bottles
Best served : know or can be kept for 10-15 years.
Serve at a temperature of approximately 17 degrees, well aired.
